Title: Hip-Hop Haters Part 1
Subject: Haters in Hip-Hop
By: MC D.E.A
Now if your not a hip-hop head period, you more then likely won't find this of use or even interesting. And if you are a hip-hop head you still will probably not find this interesting lol as you either already know, or your one of the below. Anyway continuin' on...
Just thought i'd lay down my views on "hip-hop haters". The views expressed are mine(Mc D.E.A) and not the opinion or views of Dmusic.com/Dmusic.net or it's affiliate sites. This is strickly my opinion, you are free to agree or not agree(no that's not the question lol).
-What is a "Hater" you ask?-
(this is probably your question

lol) Let me explain...
Definition: - hat·er(noun) 1)To feel extreme enmity toward 2)To hate someone with great intensity
Hip-Hop Definition: - hat·er(noun) 1)To show hate on another mc simply because their doin' better then you 2)To show hate towards another mc simply to hate. 3)To show hate because you lack the knowledge to recognize skills.
Haters come in all ages, ethnics, genders and mentalities.
There is 3 types of "Haters" in hip-hop/rap, The first type is the "Smart Hater" who actually has half a brain in that big head on their shoulders , but hate just for the fun of it. These haters are the worst and most detested of all 3 types. Then theres the second type, "Fake Hater" who THINK their the illest and know it all, but in reality no hardly anything. These are the people who hate on you for no reason when others give you praise and recognize your skills. Last but hardly least is the "Moronic Hater", These are the people who hate simply because they don't think you "bling-bling" enough in your music or you simply don't appeal to their tastes so they "dis" you and they have no idea about real hip-hop whatsoever, they couldn't tell the difference between a lyricist and a rapper if they memorized the definitions.
-What to do about them?-
Well truthfully there is nothin' you can do. Haters are everywhere at every concert, at every club, at every hip-hop site on the internet. The only advice I can give you on this question is to shake em' off your shoulders like drandruf on a black shirt.
-Do you mean people who give constructive criticism are haters?-
No, not at all. Most hip-hop artists WELCOME constructive criticism, usually only the artists who lack self-confidence call someone a hater when they in reality try to help by bein' truthful in a non-hateful manner.
-My Personal Views & Opinions-
I personally could care less about them, they don't know me or how much passion and emotion I put into my music. It's one thing to not like someone's music and to express your opinions about it but it's a totally different story when you bring "beef" and belittle others. If your one of the above 3, I suggest you take a step back from the computer, turn off all the lights, and relax because you need to realize when you hate, all you get back is hate, and the cycle never ends. That's why you get ignored, that's why not many people talk to you, that's why you have multiple aka's, and that's why i'm writin' this right now.
Because i've more then had my fair share of haters over the years, and I learned along time ago that if you show them attention your givin' in to what they want. So in reality your givin' them power over you, and that my friends is somethin' no one has done to me since I learned that.
-What does some of the slang you used, mean?-
bling bling; noun: Jewelry, derived from the sound it makes. |
dis; verb: Insult or thwart in a social manner, short for disrespect.
My next journal entry will be Part 2 of Hip-Hop Haters.
